STOP the fire in ventilated façades

Open-cell fire barrier, consisting of a stainless steel mesh with an intumescent insert, designed to prevent the spread of fire between storeys in ventilated façades.
Fire resistance: EI 30 / EI 60 / EI 90 in accordance with EN 13501-2, depending on the materials present within the ventilated façade.

Technology

Firebreather® technology employs multiple mechanisms to block heat transfer, thereby immediately suppressing flame spread.
The stainless steel mesh is designed to prevent the flame from breaking through until the intumescent strip has fully expanded. Ignition on the unexposed side is prevented throughout the declared fire resistance period.
The cavity barrier is made exclusively from corrosion-resistant materials and requires no periodic testing or maintenance.

Fire resistance is the ability of a building component to maintain its stability, integrity and thermal insulation in the event of a fire for a certain period of time.
All Firebreather® products are tested and certified with an EI rating. To prevent the vertical spread of fire in façades, effective fire containment is essential.
Balancing a building’s breathability with the ability to block smoke and fire through cavities presents a significant challenge. The optimal solution involves the use of non-combustible cavity barriers that are mechanically fixed to the façade wall. This ensures that, in the event of a fire, the intumescent material remains firmly in place.
